Bandit
Bandit is the most recent addition to our group of animals. He is a crested gecko from New Caledonia originally but he was captive bred in the UK.
Crested geckos were thought to be extinct as recently as 1994 but the species was re-discovered and thanks to captive breeding there is now a very healthy captive population. Bandit has a slight kink in his tail which was present when his former owner bought him. This may have been caused by a slight genetic defomity or a poor diet as he was gowing up.
Bandit likes to eat crickets though he is also fed on a special powdered food designed to give crested geckos all the nutrients and vitamins he needs. He is an excellent climber and can also jump around the leaves and branches in his tank.
Bandit’s home is a 24(h)x24(l)x12(w)” vivarium to give him plenty of room to climb around. The viv is filled with live and artificial plants to allow him plenty of hiding places.
