Bugs n' Beasts is a small private company operating mainly in the central belt of Scotland. Although we have only just started out our presenter has over a years experience doing animal shows. We offer live animal handling sessions to people of all ages. At Bugs N' Beasts we take animal welfare seriously and all of our animals are kept in enclosures that more than meet their requiements.

If an animal requires veterinary treatment they are taken to a local vet which specialises in exotics. Our social animals are kept in groups/pairs though no effort is made to breed domestic animals. Exotic animals on the other hand are bred by us and we have enjoyed much success breeding stick insects, giant millipedes and giant land snails last year.

To view our animals and find out how they are looked after please visit the "About our Animals" page. For more information regarding our ethics as a company please click here.

Our presenter is also fully insured and disclosure checked.

A word from our presenter

Hi there everyone, I thought that in this huge website you might like to learn a little more about me (I'm not allowed my own page).

I have loved animals from a very early age and kept hamsters and goldfish when I was younger. When I was 12 years old I was permitted by my parents to buy my first snakes (garter snakes) and the next again year came my slow worms (one of which has sadly died since then).

From there on my little "family" grew and grew until members of my human family would joke about me charging admission to my bedroom which was where most of the animals lived. Sometimes it was hard to sleep with the noises of nocturnal animals moving around their enclosures.

When I moved into my flat (nicknamed "The Ark") I used the spare bedroom for the animals. Some guests have even slept in the spare bed for the night and survived. Unfortunately my rabbits are likely to stay at my parents house due to all the customisation the garden went through to keep them there. I doubt very much if we'd be able to get their shed up the close in any case.

For just over a year and a half I did very similar work to what I currently do at Bugs n Beasts and enjoyed it more than any other job I've done.
